Wonderfully ripe and enticing, the wine shows blackberry, cake spice, cedar, game and dark chocolate aromas on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate displaying plump mouthfeel backed by layers of silky tannins, finishing long and opulent. At its best: now to 2040

From a single vineyard in Coonawarra, and a top vintage, the colour here is a near black hue. It is a ripe and chocolatey style with notes of black olives, cloves, blackberries, plums and of course, chocolate. There is good focus throughout, through to fine, sleek tannins. Good balance and terrific persistence. This is delicious drinking now and surely at least over the next six to eight years.
