This is gorgeously seductive on the nose with blackberry, vanillin oak, clove and dark chocolate aromas, followed by a concentrated palate delivering outstanding weight and density. Multi-layered and expansive with a persistent delicious finish. At its best: now to 2032.

Not often you get a chance to have a look at a new release that is eleven years old, but in this case it's worth the wait. Comes from Coonawarra, off the Reschke vineyard. Plenty of dark fruits on the nose, showing real concentration.

This is a mature Coonawarra shiraz with leather, redcurrant, spearmint and chocolate flavours combining now with secondary, undergrowth-like notes. Indeed there’s an element of smoked tobacco here, which is a nice touch. It’s medium in weight and mellow, as you would expect of a wine of its age, the flavours pushing on appreciably through the finish.
